Washington: November 9, 2017 ✉️
The liberal press today celebrated the beginning of the end of the Trump Presidency.
While disappointed not to have defeated candidates in Republican strongholds of Georgia, Montana and South Carolina earlier in the Trump presidency, it is clearly a sign of the future for the Democrats to win in a state that went for Hillary in 2016, where the retiring Democratic Governor is popular, the last four out of five Governors were Democrats, as are the two current Senators.
This confidence in the future was further emphasised by the losing Republican candidate pushing the populist message was a former Chairman of the Republican National Committee, aide to George W Bush and Washington lobbyist.
And in a day for the Democrats, there was also the success of the Democratic candidate in New Jersey, a Goldman Sachs automatic teller machine running against the current Lt Governor to the least popular Governor in all of the United States with an enthusiasm for beach holidays and traffic delays.
The Democratic candidate also promised a $15 an hour minimum wage, legalised marijuana and tighter gun laws. Oh, and Hillary won New Jersey in 2016.
It is perhaps only the miserable who will point out that this is the electoral equivalent of not dropping the ball during the first play of the game.
But at least it was a warm shower 🚿on a cold day ❄️ of other news reminding us of the why this matters. Trump’s visit to the DMZ was cancelled due to fog 🌫 – surely an example of weather imitating policy!
Where is Mueller?
