Washington: Sunday evening ✉️
With rumours of arrests thicker than chocolate wrappers on the ground in Connecticut the morning after Halloween, it is believed that the White House has been in panic mode all day.
But why?
At this stage, President Trump is considered unlikely to be an early arrest. This is a relief to the Secret Service as their reputation as being willing to take a bullet for the President will be dented if they allow a Federal Marshall with a walrus moustache to lead the President away.
Each of Hope Hicks, Sarah Huckabee and Kellyanne Conway are considered unlikely to be arrested. The first two because there was no evidence that they had done anything. And Keyanne Conway because she would have told a morning television show before now.
At this stage, the lack of FBI agents at Colorado ski resorts and Manhattan cocktail parties suggests that Jared Kushner will have to wait a while longer for a perp walk and canvas shoes.
And so it seems that, at least for a few weeks longer, the US’s nuclear arsenal, management of the opioid crisis and the protection of the poor and vulnerable will be in the hands of the workers at the weekday annexe of Trump’s National Golf Club.
