Canberra: 21 April 2019
The Australian political parties have published their Easter egg policies.
The Labor Party wants everyone to have an equal number of eggs.
The Liberal Party are promising more eggs – but only after 2022.
The Nationals want a Government subsidy.
The Greens say that all Easter eggs should be fair trade chocolate.
One Nation are only making eggs available in Queensland.
And the United Australia Party simply published a photo of Clive Palmer – it’s so easy to get confused with egg shaped objects!
Initial public reaction has been limited. Although it is expected that the ACTU will ask for weekend penalty rates for bunnies, the Business Council will say that a tax cut will provide more chocolate eggs for everyone and the ABC will broadcast an investigation into childhood obesity.
