As you asked, I have called up all my old West Wing Staff. And even the former Cabinet members.

But no luck I’m afraid.

It seems that no one can remember there ever being an exit plan for Afghanistan. On climate, I am pretty sure there is a great speech somewhere – although I probably forgot to bring it back from Paris in 2015. And you will have to ask 45 about what happened to the White House’s copy of the Constitution.

I will keep searching. But it’s the same story with any plans for serious immigration reform and a minimum wage. I think that the only thing I will find are a few activated almonds behind the cushions.

However, it was a lucky break for you that someone found Eisenhower’s plans for infrastructure as there hasn’t been anything else done since 1955.

Thank you for the birthday card. I am really sorry about your missing invitation to the birthday party in Martha’s Vineyard.

I had written “Most Powerful Man in the World” on the invitation list. But still, I should have guessed there had been a mix up when the Chinese Embassy sent apologies from Xi Jinping.

And finally. Australia. Both 42 and 43 gave me the same advice. Just issue a press release that they are a valued ally and you stand by the ANZUS Treaty. It’s worked since 1945.
